Well it's confirmed. No underpants on Henry Cavil's Superman.
Say what you will about the silliness of the outside of the pants red underpants or the fact that this is also how they redesigned Supes for DC's comic book relaunch, it just looks odd. It looks like a the wardrobe people just accidently overlooked a major piece of the costume. It reminds me of like a Bollywood version of Superman. Where something gets lost in translation and it just winds up being a half assed version of a superhero who breaks out into an elaborate song & dance halfway through the movie. Or Supes will have some crazy powers that they made up like shooting rays out of fingers or the ability to to pull the S shield off his chest and throw it at the badddies which encompasses them in red saran wrap. Oh wait, dammit, i guess we can't blame that last one on Bollywood. Oh Well.
Anyways, besides the underpants which might just need some getting used to, I really don't have too much of an issue with the design of the suit. The rubberyness is fine, the darkers colors are acceptable, the cape seems a little long but all in all it's not bad. There's nothing to it that blows my mind yet there's not in it that makes me want to crap my pants like well, like this:
...and good thing for that 'cause with out the extra underpants on the outside there could be some leakage.
